TITLE: Operations Manager, Athletics
CLASSIFICATION: Extra Duty
PAY RANGE: Pay according to Extra Duty Salaries / Ancillary Duties Schedule
REPORTS TO: Building Principal or designee
SUMMARY: Assists in preparation for athletic/extracurricular events and supervision.
QUALIFICATIONS: The following qualifications are considered to be the minimum acceptable skills and qualifications necessary to be considered for this position.
- High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
- Applicants must have exceptional oral communication skills (listening, questioning, clarifying and responsiveness)
- Applicants must write clearly and informatively, able to read and interpret written information.
- Applicants must possess the ability to work in a team environment and create positive, cooperative and professional relationships.
- General knowledge of computers including email, word processing and work order software.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supervision of athletic events for fall, winter and spring sports.
- Facilitates the smooth running and management of events.
- Serves as a liaison for officials as needed.
- Set-up and tear down for events inconjunction with the events coordinator when applicable.
- Facilitates press box and equipment needs for events (i.e. football chains, score clock equipment etc.)
- Managing the safe collections of money boxes and secures these items in the building.
- Problem solves issues at an event.
- When necessary may prepare for a Saturday event after the end of a Friday event in the same weekend.
- Assists the athletic director with scheduling of other event staff.
- Performs other related duties as assigned by the athletic director and/or administration.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: This position will supervise ticket workers, score keepers, concession workers and other required staff at an event as needed.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
The employee shall remain free of any alcohol or nonprescribed controlled substance abuse in the workplace throughout his/her employment in the Corporation.
