Flox Intelligence is a wildlife intelligence company whose adaptive systems prevent dangerous and costly wildlife conflicts across critical infrastructure. We enable safe coexistence between people and wildlife through AI-powered, non-lethal deterrence that speaks to animals in their own language — detecting an approaching animal, identifying its species and intent, and guiding it away from danger.

We’re a lean, growing team of about 15 people. We’ve just closed a $3M Seed round and are scaling from successful deployments to volume production — with flagship customers at major airports, transport networks, and other critical infrastructure across North America, Europe, and Australia.

The Role

We’re hiring our first Head of Operations & Finance — the person who makes sure our Edge units get shipped, delivered, and that the company runs on a sound financial backbone as we scale across three continents. This is a high-performing role working directly with our CEO and leadership team.

You’ll own the entire physical and financial path of our product — from sourcing and manufacturing, through cross-border logistics and customs, to units arriving at customer sites — alongside the finance function we now need after our raise. Some weeks you’ll be deep in a production batch; others you’ll be closing the books, prepping a board deck, or untangling a customs hold.

You’ll be the operational and financial spine of Flox Intelligence, building the systems and processes that don’t exist yet. It’s a foundational role for someone with sharp thinking, real bandwidth, and the instinct to plan their own week without being asked.

What You’ll Own

• Supply chain & manufacturing — component sourcing and supplier relationships across our hardware stack, coordinating production batches with our partners, and de-risking the parts and lead times that gate our delivery dates.
• Logistics & trade — reliable transatlantic shipping of units and components, and the realities of exporting AI hardware (classification, customs, certifications, importer-of-record structure) turned into an advantage.
• Company operations — the day-to-day rhythm across two time zones and two entities (Swedish AB U.S. Inc.), with lightweight processes so nothing falls through the cracks.
• Finance — budgeting, cash flow, runway, and investor-grade reporting; the books, payroll, and accounting partners across two countries; and the models that inform production and pricing.
• AI-first operations — we lean on AI heavily, and we want someone who instinctively reaches for it to automate the repetitive ops, logistics, and reporting work.

Who You Are

You pick up complex information fast, spot problems others miss, and turn that into action without needing to be told twice. You’re humble and hungry, genuinely curious, a bit relentless, and comfortable in ambiguity. You believe the job isn’t done until it’s done.

More specifically, we’re looking for:

• 5 years of experience — from being a founder, building a scale-up, or a similarly broad and demanding environment close to leadership, ideally somewhere that ships physical product internationally.
• A real understanding of hardware supply chains, international logistics, and cross-border trade.
• Financial fluency — you can own a budget, product costs, and produce reporting investors trust. Formal finance experience is a strong plus.
• Fluency in English — written and spoken (Swedish is a plus, not a requirement).
• Sharp, structured thinking — you don’t settle for the first or most convenient explanation.
• Self-direction — you set your own goals, break down complex tasks, and drive them to completion.
• You operate across many workstreams at once, with the self-discipline and ability to prioritize.
• A builder’s instinct for AI — you actively use it to automate processes and remove busywork.

We’re office-first and would love this person close to one of our hubs — Syracuse, New York or Stockholm, Sweden. For the right talent, we’re open to a remote arrangement, with regular travel to our offices, suppliers, and deployment sites.
