What are the responsibilities and job description for the Project Controls Analyst position at Flowtec Group?
Project Controls Analyst
Location: Edgerton, KS
Compensation: $130,000 β $150,000 Bonus 401(k) Match ESPP Benefits
Flowtec Group is partnering with a national general contractor to appoint a Project Controls Analyst to support the delivery of large-scale industrial, aviation, power and commercial construction projects.
Our client is the vertical construction arm of a Fortune 500 group with over 35,000 employees and 400 offices nationwide. This role sits alongside the Project Manager with genuine ownership of cost control, forecasting and reporting you'll be the one the project team relies on for the numbers, not someone processing them after the fact.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Owning project controls end to end β cost control across budget, commitments and actuals, with monthly forecasting and forecast at completion
- Running job cost analysis and variance reporting, and producing job cost reports the project team actually uses
- Managing project schedules in MS Project or Primavera P6
- Generating the Project Status Report and maintaining the risk register
- Leading weekly project coordination meetings, minutes and documentation
- Handling change management through PCOs and PCCOs
- Administering prime contract payment applications and verifying subcontractor applications for payment
- Processing subcontractor backcharges and formal notices to owners and subcontractors
- Supporting punch-list management, warranty review and procurement
- Working closely with the Project Field Engineer and Superintendent on construction progress, subcontractor issues, permits, inspections, owner issues and field procurement
- Developing and delivering training to project team members on processes and practices
What We're Looking For:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management or a related field, with 5 years in the engineering or construction industry
- Experience on projects greater than $50 million
- Project scheduling experience with MS Project and/or Primavera P6
- Strong working knowledge of Procore and Sage
- In-depth knowledge of standard accounting practices and procedures
- Document control experience
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
- Highly organised, with superior written and verbal communication
- Ability to travel and/or relocate
- Bilingual English/Spanish is an advantage
Why This Role:
- Real ownership of the numbers. You'll own cost, forecast and reporting rather than administering someone else's model
- A Fortune 500 parent with the backing, backlog and financial strength to keep good people busy
- Exposure across 16 disciplines of construction on genuinely complex projects
- 401(k) with company match, Employee Stock Purchase Plan, and a clear route into senior project controls and project management
