Position summary
Senior Superintendent to lead field operations on complex ground‑up projects. This individual will be the on-site leader responsible for driving schedule, quality, safety, and client satisfaction. The ideal candidate is an experienced builder who excels in a smaller, agile company where independence and accountability are core expectations.
Project Types: Ground-up commercial construction including office, municipal, medical, manufacturing, and mixed commercial developments.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead field operations on larger and more complex projects from start to finish
- Maintain and manage project schedules using MS Project
- Develop and execute detailed look-ahead schedules
- Coordinate all site activities, subcontractors, inspections, and logistics
- Ensure work is completed safely, on time, and to Schafer’s quality standards
- Interpret plans, specifications, and project documents
- Partner closely with Project Managers and centralized project support
- Serve as the primary on-site representative for clients, inspectors, and stakeholders
Qualifications
- 10–15 years of ground-up construction experience
- Strong background in commercial and industrial projects
- Comfortable working in a small, entrepreneurial GC environment
- Strong client-facing communication and professionalism
- Proven ability to operate independently with minimal oversight
- Experience with MS Project and MS Teams

Salary : $120,000 - $145,000
