Position summary

Senior Superintendent to lead field operations on complex ground‑up projects. This individual will be the on-site leader responsible for driving schedule, quality, safety, and client satisfaction. The ideal candidate is an experienced builder who excels in a smaller, agile company where independence and accountability are core expectations.

Project Types: Ground-up commercial construction including office, municipal, medical, manufacturing, and mixed commercial developments.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead field operations on larger and more complex projects from start to finish
• Maintain and manage project schedules using MS Project
• Develop and execute detailed look-ahead schedules
• Coordinate all site activities, subcontractors, inspections, and logistics
• Ensure work is completed safely, on time, and to Schafer’s quality standards
• Interpret plans, specifications, and project documents
• Partner closely with Project Managers and centralized project support
• Serve as the primary on-site representative for clients, inspectors, and stakeholders

Qualifications

• 10–15 years of ground-up construction experience
• Strong background in commercial and industrial projects
• Comfortable working in a small, entrepreneurial GC environment
• Strong client-facing communication and professionalism
• Proven ability to operate independently with minimal oversight
• Experience with MS Project and MS Teams
