Project Manager – Detroit, MI Established CM/Design-Build/GC Firm
We're partnered with a well-established Construction Manager, Design/Build, and General Contracting firm based in the Detroit area that's looking to add a Project Manager to their team.
In business for over 30 years, this firm has built a strong regional reputation over with a diverse project portfolio spanning ground-up construction and renovation work. Their work typically ranges from $1M up to $25M in project value, with a mix of multifamily, retail, and mixed-use developments across the Detroit and greater Michigan market.
Project Types Include:
- Multifamily developments: 3–8 story apartment buildings
- Retail and big-box construction
- Ground-up and renovation/conversion projects
- Site work and outdoor mall/retail centers
- Storage and light commercial buildings
Recent & Current Projects:
- Car Wash – $4M
- Outdoor Mall with Site Work – $10M
- School Conversion
- Multifamily – 3-4 Story Apartment Buildings
Pipeline Includes:
- 8-Story Multifamily, Detroit (first floor steel, wood or metal construction above)
- 6-Story Multifamily
- $15M Project in Flint
- Storage Building
- Two to Three $25M Projects
The Role:
- Manage projects from preconstruction through closeout
- Oversee schedule, budget, subcontractor coordination, and quality control
- Collaborate closely with superintendents, ownership, architects, and trade partners
- Track project costs, change orders, and contracts
- Support site logistics planning and constructability reviews
- Maintain strong client relationships and represent the company professionally on-site and in meetings
- Help ensure safety and quality standards are met throughout the project lifecycle
What They're Looking For:
- Proven experience managing commercial, multifamily, or retail construction projects
- Background with a CM, Design/Build, or General Contracting firm
- Strong scheduling, budgeting, and subcontractor management skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders simultaneously
- Strong communication and client-facing skills
- A team-first mindset with the ability to mentor and collaborate with field staff
