Inventory Assistant

Job Summary: This position will be responsible for providing inventory and office support for the Grand Bay location.

Job Responsibilities:

This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as management may deem necessary from time to time.

· Enter all inventory transactions in Sage and verify counts as needed. Inventory transactions include:

• Count plants in assigned areas daily and cycle count as needed.
• Count and enter new production.
• Enter all plant movement and spacing of plants, and scrapped plants.
• Enter fertilizer/herbicide.
• Input all specs and heights of plants.
• Input all availability changes.

· Verify counts and quality of all plants received and enter into Sage.

· Print crop sticks and T-stakes for new production and place in correct areas as needed.

· Produce purchase orders and send purchase order approvals to accounts payable.

· Order office supplies, gloves and cleaning supplies.

· Enter rack inventory into Teams.

· Enter orders for shipping (cross-dock & transfers) including printing digging cards, rack straps, and send orders to Flowerwood trucking.

· Process packing lists and invoices for trucking data.

· Assist with completing weekly payroll – adjust missed punches and wrong departmental changes, and track attendance/tardiness.

· Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Education and Experience

· Plant knowledge and wholesale nursery experience a plus.

· Prior experience working in inventory preferred.

Competencies

· Strong math skills for counting and accuracy.

· Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well with others.

· Strong date entry skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.

· Ability to multi-task and prioritize.

· Attention to detail.

Physical Demands

· Occasionally lifts/pulls/carries up to 25 pounds.

· Walk and stand outside for prolonged periods of time

· Frequently required to stand, sit, talk, and hear, and use hands to handle, or touch objects or controls.

· On occasion the incumbent may be required to stoop, bend, kneel, or reach above the shoulders.

· Operate typical office equipment such as a computer, telephone, copy machine, etc.

· Regular mental demands such as comprehension, reasoning, decision making, and strong math skills.

Work Environment:

· Inside office work and outside work on the nursery.

· Saturday hours as needed.
