Position Summary: The Administrative Specialist is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of a large early childhood center including four preschool classrooms and four infant-toddler classrooms, under the direction of the Preschool Director. Duties include monitoring staff attendance and call-offs, managing the daily schedule, providing administrative support for center staff, providing direction to classroom support staff, assisting the Preschool Director in maintaining necessary licensing paperwork, and occasionally working in classrooms to maintain appropriate supervision ratios.
Job Type: Full Time, Year-Round (12-months), Hourly, Non-Exempt
Expected Schedule: Monday- Friday, 8:00a-4:30p, 40 hours per week
Rate of Pay: High School Diploma/GED: $15.61/hr AA: 17.84/hr BA or Higher: $19.12/hr
Education Requirement: High School Diploma or equivalent; Associate degree preferred with Three years’ related experience.
- Experience in an early education setting
- Experience managing staff schedules
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.)
- Strong organizational, problem-solving and decision-making skills
Other Selection Criteria: All candidates must be 18 years of age, possess a valid driver’s license and their own reliable transportation, complete a physical examination, comprehensive fingerprinted criminal background check, and pre-employment drug screen including a negative result for Amphetamines, Cannabinoids (including Marijuana/THC), Cocaine, Opiates, and Phencyclidine (PCP). Marijuana is not legal at the federal level and is prohibited in the workplace or in one's system, even if legally prescribed.
