What are the responsibilities and job description for the Receiver -Corporate Distribution Center position at FLOWERLAND GARDEN CENTERS OF CLEVELAND INC?
The Distribution Center Warehouse Associate assists with the daily operations of receiving, storing, and shipping products. The Warehouse Associate will ensure inventory is handled efficiently, safely, and in compliance with all safety guidelines.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.
- Unload and verify incoming shipments, ensuring products match the packing lists and are free of damage.
- Assist with organizing and storing inventory in the warehouse, ensuring items are properly labeled and categorized for easy access.
- Pick and pack products for outgoing orders, ensuring accuracy and quality control before shipment.
- Prepare and label outgoing shipments according to company guidelines.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization within the warehouse to promote a safe and efficient working environment.
- Conduct periodic stock checks, assist with cycle counts, and report discrepancies or damage to inventory.
- Safely operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, etc (if applicable and trained).
- Follow all safety protocols and maintain a safe work environment, reporting any safety hazards or issues.
- Work closely with other warehouse associates, supervisors, and other departments to meet operational goals.
- Perform other warehouse duties as required by the supervisor.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to lift, carry, and move heavy products (up to 50 lbs.) as needed throughout the day.
- Strong ability to follow instructions and pick products accurately.
- Ability to work efficiently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work well within a team and contribute to the overall goals of the warehouse.
- Familiarity with POS software and inventory systems is preferred.
- Previous experience in a warehouse or distribution center setting is a plus but not required.
- Certification in operating forklifts and other warehouse equipment is a plus.
- May require weekend or evening shifts depending on business needs.
