Great Candidates: We are seeking a hands-on, detail-oriented Manufacturing & Supplier Quality Engineer to own manufacturing execution, test strategy, and supplier quality across our global supply base. This role sits at the intersection of product engineering, operations, and quality, with involvement on factory floors in Asia and ownership of sustaining engineering for deployed products.
This engineer will be responsible for ensuring products are built right the first time, scale reliably, meet quality and certification requirements, and continuously improve through data-driven root cause analysis and process optimization.
Responsibilities and Role:
- Act as the primary technical interface with overseas manufacturing partners
- Audit end-to-end manufacturing processes across multiple suppliers and countries
- Validate, and improve assembly workflows, test stations
- Identify process inefficiencies and lead continuous improvement initiatives (yield, scrap, cycle time)
- Conduct on-site factory audits covering process control, workmanship, quality systems, and testing rigor
- Establish and enforce supplier quality expectations, control plans, and inspection standards
- Support supplier onboarding, qualification, and transitions
- Define, coordinate, and maintain manufacturing and reliability test protocols
- Ensure consistency between design validation, production testing, and field performance
- Oversee test coverage, sampling plans, failure detection thresholds, and corrective actions
- Ensure compliance with UL, NSF, and other certifications
- Own sustaining engineering for released products, including field failure analysis and corrective action
- Perform root cause analysis on quality escapes, service issues, and manufacturing defects
- Drive corrective and preventive actions with suppliers and internal stakeholders
- Support engineering change orders tied to quality, cost, or reliability improvements
- Update and maintain engineering drawings, specifications, BOMs, and work instructions
- Ensure design intent is clearly communicated and consistently executed in manufacturing
- Support controlled design changes to improve manufacturability, reliability, or cost
- Lead technical validation and risk assessment during supplier transitions
- Partner with sourcing and operations to reduce cost without compromising quality or performance
Candidate Competencies:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field
- 7 years of experience in manufacturing engineering, supplier quality, or process engineering
- Hands-on experience working directly on factory floors, ideally in Asia
- Strong background in test engineering, fixtures, jigs, and manufacturing validation
- Proven experience with sustaining engineering and fault/root cause analysis
- Ability to travel internationally and operate effectively in overseas manufacturing environments
Preferred Candidate Competencies:
- Experience with water systems, appliances, or electromechanical hardware
- Familiarity with UL, NSF, ISO, and quality management systems
- Experience supporting supplier transitions and multi-country sourcing strategies
Location: Must be Denver-based with occasional travel to Asia. In office two days per week.
Compensation: This is a full-time, salaried position with competitive compensation ($100K-$115K), as well as a comprehensive benefits package (medical, dental, vision, F.S.A., 401(k)), partially paid parental leave policy, and Paid Time Off.
