What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Technician position at Flow Dry Technology?
Maintenance Technician: this role is responsible for maintaining & repairing the production equipment, Facility systems, and (on occasion) facility grounds. This position directly reports to the Maintenance Supervisor. This role is in constant interaction with Manufacturing Engineers and Production Management to ensure that all work is performed on a timely basis and in an efficient and safe manner. This position will also be involved with improvement activities from capital projects to product launches, lean, and kaizen events.
- Maintains and repairs various assembly and processing equipment (mostly highly automated PLC controlled assembly lines, others being hydraulic presses/kitting operations).
- Must have working understanding of mechanics and pneumatics with experience in basic fabrication and power tools.
- Must have experience using a computer; sending emails, and excel sheets
- Must be able to troubleshoot and read schematics for pneumatic, electrical, and hydraulic equipment.
- Curiosity, a calm demeanor, and dependability are the top habits we are looking for.
- Responsible for keeping work area clean and safe.
- Responsible for communicating information on jobs performed either manually or electronically (i.e.- Preventative, Predictive maintenance, shift handoff notes).
- Helps plan and implement Safety/OEE/production related improvements
- Performs preventive maintenance and troubleshoots machinery and equipment. Works with preventive and predictive maintenance programs on a regular basis
- Informs Supervisor/next shift of defective equipment and/or material.
- Informs Supervisor/next shift of material needed to repair or maintain equipment.
- Checks work performed as required to ensure that all quality standards are maintained.
- Requires some physical effort and handling of material occasionally up to 45 pounds.
- Performs other duties and projects as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Associate degree
- 3 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment with at least 2 years of Maintenance experience
- Computer skills
- Demonstrated problem solving habits
Preferred Qualifications
- Automotive manufacturing environment beneficial

- Experience with a Conair System that is used to control machinery
- Preferred experience in 24V DC to 480V AC electrical systems.
- Understanding of how Safety circuits/interlocks work
- Troubleshooting high pressure hydraulic systems a plus
- Exposure using a Laptop to talk with PLC’s and troubleshoot why a line is not running
- Exposure to Fanuc or collaborate robots
- Willingness to learn any of the above topics if not familiar (with external/internal training)

Working Environment:
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate; however, it can be loud for periods of time while working near equipment which is in operation. Hearing protection and safety glasses may be required. Employee must be able to hear fork truck horn. The employee must be able to work alone for extended periods of time. The employee must also be able to work with others as required.
