Core Responsibilities
The Branch Manager is accountable for the Profit & Loss (P&L) of the Lakeland office and the professional development of its inside sales, warehouse, and delivery staff.
- Strategic Leadership & Branch Management
- Operational Oversight: Manage day-to-day activities to ensure efficiency in sales, administrative functions, inventory, and warehouse.
- Financial Performance: Support GM in revenue growth and manage the branch budget, focusing on hitting quarterly and annual initiatives and goals.
- Team Development: Recruit, mentor, and retain a high-performing team.
- Sales & Business Development
- Regional Strategy: Work with GM and outside sales to identify and capitalize on market opportunities within the Florida territory, specifically targeting food & beverage, personal care, pharmaceutical, data center, and industrial clients and contractors.
- Key Account Management: Maintain and grow relationships with top-tier clients and contractors.
- Sales Pipeline: Oversee sales funnel to ensure accurate forecasting and proactive lead follow-up.
- Technical & Project Coordination
- Solution Delivery: Work closely with the Inside Sales and GM to meet client specifications and Centrex standards.
- Vendor Liaison: Act as the primary point of contact for manufacturers to ensure the Lakeland office remains current on new product launches and technical training.
- Quoting & Estimating: Generate accurate, detailed quotes for distributed products, pipe, valves, and fittings, ensuring all components meet customer specifications.
- Customer Consultation: Act as the first point of contact for inbound inquiries, advising clients on material compatibility and system configurations.
- Sales Support & Synergy: Partner closely with Florida-based Outside Sales Representatives to manage project lifecycles, follow up on leads, and close pending opportunities.
- Order Management: Oversee the transition of quotes into orders, coordinating with the warehouse and manufacturers to ensure on-time delivery for mission-critical applications.
- Relationship Management: Cultivate long-term rapport with engineers, procurement managers, and contractors via phone and email, providing the "gold standard" of customer service.
- Data Integrity: Maintain meticulous records in our CRM/ERP systems to track territory performance and project status.
- Conduct weekly staff meetings to align on sales targets and project deadlines.
- Review and approve complex technical proposals and contracts.
- Monitor local market trends and competitor activity in the Florida territory.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and corporate policies.
- Travel occasionally to client sites or corporate headquarters as needed.
- Experience: 7 years in technical sales or industrial distribution, with at least 3 years in a
- leadership/management role.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in business or a related field.
- Alternative: We value expertise; a High School Diploma combined with extensive industry experience
- and a proven track record of leadership will be considered instead of a degree.
- Skills: Strong understanding of mechanical/process systems and industrial applications.
- Exceptional communication and negotiation skills.
- Proficiency in CRM software (e.g., Salesforce) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Local Knowledge: Familiarity with the Florida industrial landscape is a significant plus.
