Position Summary:
The Assistant Teacher works alongside the Lead Teacher to support a safe, caring, and developmentally appropriate classroom environment. This position includes assisting with classroom activities, guiding children through daily routines, maintaining cleanliness and organization, and helping foster a warm, positive tone throughout the day. There may be times when this person steps into a lead role as well as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the Lead Teacher in implementing daily lesson plans, hands-on activities, and child-centered learning experiences.
- Engage children in play, conversation, and exploration that supports their physical, social, emotional, and cognitive development.
- Maintain a caring, supportive, and professional tone with children, families, and coworkers at all times.
- Assist with classroom routines including mealtimes, rest time, outdoor play, diapering/toileting, and transitions.
- Monitor the safety and supervision of children at all times, in accordance with licensing standards.
- Help maintain cleanliness and organization of the classroom (sanitizing surfaces, toy rotation, materials prep, etc.).
- Communicate effectively with the Lead Teacher and Director regarding child needs, observations, or concerns.
Qualifications:
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Experience working with children preferred, but we are happy to train the right person.
- Willingness to complete required state trainings and background checks.
- Ability to be patient, stay calm under stress, and bring a positive, team-oriented attitude every day.

Schedule & Compensation:
- Part-Time with 8-20 hours consistently depending on operational need.
- We're looking for availability between the hours of Monday-Friday 7:30 a.m. - 7:00 p.m.
