About the Role

This role combines video inspection, robotic cutting and accurate documentation. Your footage and reports are what the owner sees as proof of a finished job, and your cuts decide whether every customer's service is restored cleanly. You will work closely with the foreman, boiler operator, inversion crew and laborers on municipal, utility and commercial projects.

Key Responsibilities

CCTV inspection

• Operate CCTV inspection trucks, crawler cameras, push cameras and related software.
• Perform pre-cleaning, pre-lining and post-lining video inspections of sewer and storm pipes.
• Locate, measure and record the position, orientation and condition of every service lateral before lining.
• Identify and code pipe defects, such as cracks, root intrusion, offsets, infiltration and collapses.
• Confirm that pipes are properly cleaned and ready for lining before installation begins.

Tap cutting and reinstatement

• Operate robotic cutters to reinstate service laterals after the liner is cured.
• Use pre-lining measurements, video and dimple locations to find each connection accurately.
• Make clean, full-diameter reinstatements and trim liner ends at manholes as required.
• Grind and finish cuts to remove rough edges, coupons and obstructions.
• Change cutter bits, heads and attachments, and keep the cutter properly adjusted.

Reporting and documentation

• Produce accurate inspection reports, video files, photos and footage logs for each pipe segment.
• Record reinstated laterals and flag any connections that could not be found or fully opened.
• Deliver completed reports and video to the foreman and office on schedule.

Equipment care and site safety

• Perform daily checks, cleaning and basic maintenance on cameras, crawlers, cables, cutters, compressors and generators.
• Troubleshoot camera and cutter problems in the field and report repairs needed.
• Follow all safety procedures for work zone traffic control, confined spaces and open manholes.
• Help the crew with setup, bypass, cleaning and general labor when needed.

Qualifications

Required

• 18 years of age or older.
• Valid driver's license with a clean motor vehicle record (MVR). A CDL is not required.
• Comfortable with computers, video equipment and remote-controlled tools.
• Good hand-eye coordination, patience and attention to detail.
• Able to pass a background check and pre-employment drug screen.
• Willing to travel within Florida and stay overnight, sometimes for several consecutive days.
• Able to work early mornings, nights, weekends and long shifts when project schedules require.

Preferred

• Experience with CIPP lining and robotic tap cutting / lateral reinstatement.
• Experience with sewer CCTV inspection equipment and reporting software.
• NASSCO PACP and LACP certification, or willingness to obtain it.
• Class A or B CDL is a plus.
• OSHA 10, confined-space entry, first aid/CPR or FDOT Intermediate MOT certification.
• Basic mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
• Bilingual English/Spanish.

Travel and Per Diem

Most work is in the Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach area, with crews sent to projects elsewhere in Florida as needed.

• Travel is limited to the state of Florida.
• Lodging is arranged and paid by Flotech Environmental.
• Travel to and from out-of-town job sites is in company vehicles or reimbursed per company policy.

Physical Demands and Working Conditions

• Work inside a CCTV or cutter truck and outdoors in Florida heat, humidity and rain, often on active roadways.
• Long periods of focused screen work while operating cameras and cutters remotely.
• Regular lifting of up to 50 lbs, plus standing, bending, climbing and kneeling around manholes.
• Work near traffic, heavy equipment, compressed air lines and open manholes.
• Exposure to sewer gases, wastewater, resins, fuel and noise; required PPE is provided and must be worn.
• Shifts can run long when reinstatements must be completed to restore service the same day.
