We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Hygienist to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality dental care and education to our patients, ensuring their comfort and understanding of oral hygiene practices. This role requires a strong foundation in general dentistry, as well as proficiency in various dental office procedures and technologies.
Responsibilities
- Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing teeth to remove plaque and tartar.
- Conduct patient assessments, including reviewing medical history and taking vital signs.
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and the importance of regular dental visits.
- Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures, ensuring a smooth workflow within the clinic.
- Maintain accurate patient records using soft dent, are adhering to HIPAA regulations.
- Utilize medical terminology effectively when communicating with patients and staff.
- Stay updated on advancements in dental hygiene practices and technologies.
- Ensure that all dental equipment is sterilized and maintained according to safety standards.
Requirements
- Valid state license to practice as a Dental Hygienist.
- Strong knowledge of general dentistry principles and practices.
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality.
- Experience working in a dental office setting is preferred.
- Proficiency in using Dentrix or similar dental practice management software.
- Understanding of medical terminology related to dentistry.
- Knowledge of anatomy relevant to oral health care.
- Experience with dental is a plus but not required.
- Ability to perform medical imaging procedures as needed.
