Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for exams, including taking vitals, documenting medical history, and updating electronic health records (EHR).
- Assist physicians during exams and procedures, providing necessary instruments and supplies.
- Administer medications and injections as directed by the physician.
- Perform basic laboratory tests and assist with specimen collection.
- Schedule patient appointments and manage patient flow.
- Ensure the cleanliness and sterilization of medical equipment and exam rooms.
- Educate patients on health management and treatment plans.
- Handle patient inquiries and provide excellent customer service.
- Follow all safety, health, and infection control protocols.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; completion of an accredited medical assistant program preferred.
- Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA or RMA) preferred, but not required.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, EHR systems, and office equipment.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Compassionate, detail-oriented, and patient-focused.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
