OVERVIEW
The Assistant Director of Employer Development at the College of Business plays a key role in overseeing employer relations efforts within Business Career Services (BCS). This position is essential in bridging the gap between academic programs and the professional world, ensuring that students are well-prepared for their careers and that employers have access to top talent. This role will create and implement strategic employer development plans, build partnerships with industry stakeholders and the talent acquisition community, and support professional development and career readiness initiatives. The Assistant Director will develop and maintain strong employer and corporate relations, support adjustments to professional development programs, offer various networking opportunities, and arrange valuable industry immersion and internship experiences that lead to outstanding post-graduation outcomes for business students.
SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist with the direction of the Employer Development program by fostering strong relationships between Business Career Services and employers. This includes overseeing and enhancing employer relations efforts, designing and implementing industry-specific initiatives locally and nationwide, and leading special projects focused on employer relations within BCS.
- Design and implement curated employer engagement events and initiatives serving as a bridge between students and the talent acquisition community, ensuring a unique and valuable student and employer experience.
- Develop, manage and coordinate the college’s Career Expo, networking events, and employer-led workshops, ensuring effective communication with relevant campus departments and stakeholders. Create and offer tailored and ad hoc solutions to companies looking to establish a robust campus presence.
- Travel frequently and maintain flexibility to adapt to a varied schedule to build and maintain relationships with employers, recruiters, alumni, parents and other key stakeholders within the FSU community. Seasonal travel aligns with industry specific recruitment cycles while including visits to employer sites and participation at alumni engagement events, corporate tours as well as other college-related initiatives and projects.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in business or a related field from an accredited institution. A minimum of three years of relevant professional experience in employer development, career services, or employer relations, ideally within an academic setting. Demonstrated expertise in career services operations, customer service, sales, recruitment, and talent acquisition.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- A master’s degree or higher in business or a related field from an accredited institution.
- A deep understanding of the current job market and employer needs within a variety of business sectors.
- Demonstrated success in developing and executing employer development and engagement strategies and programs.
