Responsibilities
This position leads the Integrated Communications team that promotes internal and external communications of the technology services, projects and initiatives. The team is responsible for digital and print publications, social media, knowledge base and web content, trainings, outreach and promotions for faculty, staff and students.
The ITS Program Director for Integrated Communications oversees all aspects of the comprehensive, integrated marketing communications strategy to improve the ITS profile across FSU constituent groups. Outputs and outcomes of ITS Integrated Communications will support all services, projects, and strategic initiatives across the organization through consistent messaging. Responsible for management, administrative direction, and coordination of staff and activities, other strategic initiatives across the ITS organization, and operational and project-specific communications to both internal and external audiences.
Responsible for management, direction, and coordination of the teams that focused on planning, development, and implementation of all ITS communications, outreach, and the overall marketing strategy to support department objectives and maximize awareness and rapport for ITS. Manages the team that delivers unified, strategic communications and supporting content through a variety of tools and mediums to internal and external audiences. Ensures all content supports and reflects the Florida State University brand, key initiatives, message, and mission in partnership with University Communication.
Responsible for the management of the ITS unit's communications projects and serves as a senior member of the Strategy & Outreach team. Creates strategies for comprehensive campaigns and develops key messages, promotions, and content across traditional, digital, and social media platforms to raise the ITS profile and promote key technology initiatives, projects, and services. All while also overseeing project-related resources, timelines, staff, and budget based on metrics, user analytics, and research of aspirational peer institutions.
Responsible for all ITS-related websites, social media, and status messaging systems. Develops and enhances the ITS web brand, content, and social media presence. Ensures accessibility compliance across digital platforms.
Manages outreach activities and training resources for ITS services, including public-facing knowledge base, job aids, and multimedia resources. Oversee graphic design and video production activities of the ITS department. Manages a team that produces graphics, illustrations, multimedia content, and other emerging technologies to complement communication strategies and enhance ITS online presence.
Supports the growth and professional development of Integrated Communication staff members. Develop policies based on industry's best practices and provides direction to achieve consistency in a high writing standard by all team members.
Manages clear communications in the event of ITS service-related incidents. Coordinates the team that disseminates messages alerting FSU to service availability.
Qualifications
Master's degree and four years of experience related to media, communications, and/or marketing services or a Bachelor's degree and six years of related experience is the same areas or a high school diploma or equivalent and ten years of related experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in Higher Education.
One to two years of experience managing a team of professional staff.
Proven experience managing a large scale communications campaign.
