Seeking Full Time APRN/PA

Florida Springs Wellness and Recovery, a Joint Commission Accredited substance abuse treatment facility located in Panama City, Florida is currently seeking a full time APRN/PA to join a busy and growing team.

The applicant must be Licensed in the state of Florida, able to pass background and drug screen. DATA 2000 waiver preferred but new graduates and those willing to obtain the waiver are encouraged to apply.

Duties include physical examinations, mental health evaluations, medical/medication management, and Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) services. The candidate must be able to work independently and collaboratively with the Medical Director and multidisciplinary team.

Job Summary

The Nurse Practitioner/ Physicians Assistant is responsible providing medically necessary primary care and psychiatric services to adults suffering from substance abuse, mental illness or co-occurring disorders under the direction of the Medical Director. Work is performed in compliance with all State and Federal guidelines and in accordance with policy and procedures set forth by the facility.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

· Functions independently to perform history and physical for substance abuse, psychiatric, acute and chronically ill clients within the timeframe dictated by state regulations, insurance requirements and facility policy and procedure.

· Use American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM) criteria to plan, implement and evaluate treatment from admission through discharge.

· Orders and interprets diagnostic and therapeutic tests relative to patient’s specific needs.

· Diagnoses, develops and implements plans of care.

· Prescribes appropriate pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic treatment modalities.

· Monitors the effectiveness of interventions.

· Maintains high standard of clinical documentation, Completes all documentation in timely manner.

· Responsible for outpatient Medication Assisted Treatment Program (MAT)

· Facilitates the patient’s transition within and between health care settings, e.g. admitting, transferring, and discharging patients as part of the multidisciplinary team.

· Participates in multidisciplinary team meetings regularly.

· Provides patient education about disease process, relapse prevention and medication management.

· Participates in regularly scheduled supervision meetings with Medical Director.

  • Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner Program/ PA Program
  • Licensed in the State of Florida as an Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner/ PA
  • Current provider card in Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Strong computer skills, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • DATA 2000 Waiver preferred.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Must have knowledgeable of 65D-30 standards.
  • Knowledge of Joint Commission Standards.
  • Must have the ability to counsel clients.
  • A valid Florida driver’s license and a good driving record are required. Must be able to provide own transportation.
  • Must be able to pass Level 2 DCF Background Screening.
  • Computer competency required.
  • Must possess excellent organizational skills.
  • Must have the ability to handle confidential information appropriately.
  • Ability to interact with people from diverse cultural, economic and ethnic backgrounds. Ability to set appropriate boundaries and limits with clients.
