We are seeking a proactive and versatile General Handyman to join our facilities maintenance team. Duties
- Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on facilities equipment, plumbing, electrical systems, HVAC units, and building interior components.
- Conduct repairs using hand tools, welding equipment, and electrical testing devices such as ohmmeters to troubleshoot issues accurately.
- Maintain and repair plumbing systems, including fixtures, pipes, and drainage to ensure optimal operation.
- Execute building interior maintenance tasks such as painting, carpentry, drywall repairs, and general refurbishment projects.
- Assist with HVAC system repairs and troubleshooting to ensure climate control systems operate efficiently.
- Read schematics and technical diagrams to diagnose problems and implement effective solutions.
- Supervise or assist with maintenance projects while adhering to safety standards and best practices in facilities management.
Skills
- Strong mechanical knowledge with experience in maintenance, repair, and operations (MRO).
- Proficiency with electrical work including electrical equipment repair and electrical system troubleshooting.
- Skilled in plumbing system maintenance and repair techniques.
- Experience with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) is a plus for troubleshooting automated systems.
- Ability to operate hand tools safely and efficiently; familiarity with power tools is advantageous.
- Knowledge of HVAC systems including repair, troubleshooting, and routine maintenance.
- Ability to interpret schematics and technical diagrams accurately.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly in English.
- Supervising or leadership experience is preferred for overseeing maintenance activities or junior team members.
