The Florida Senior Living Association is seeking a dynamic, high-energy and self-motivated Director of Education with an outgoing personality to lead our professional development and event coordination efforts. This role is perfect for someone who works with online learning platforms, currently develops online programs, and experience with event planning.


The Director of Education will lead the creation and execution of a robust education program that supports professional development opportunities, regulatory compliance, and operational courses. The perfect candidate will build and manage an annual education budget and calendar, develop high-quality online and in-person programs, and play a key role in membership growth and member engagement.


Key Responsibilities:

 

Education Program Development & Delivery:

  • Design, write, and produce high-quality online training courses, webinars, lunch & learns, workshops, and in-person sessions using modern learning management systems (LMS).
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive annual education calendar, including the flagship ENGAGE Annual Conference, regional meetings, retreats, and virtual offerings.
  • Ensure all programming aligns with senior living trends, workforce development needs, continuing education requirements (CEUs for administrators, nurses, and staff), and regulatory/compliance topics.
  • Continuously evaluate program effectiveness and implement improvements based on member feedback and industry changes.


Member Engagement & Association Support

  • Support membership growth and increase member engagement through education and events.
  • Actively promote education programs, recruit new members and industry partners at events, and support marketing efforts.


Events & Partner Engagement Coordination

  • Maintain and manage the association’s master events calendar, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and alignment across all programs and communications
  • Coordinate and execute FSLA CONNECT networking events, including venue coordination, vendor communication, and on-site support
  • Collaborate closely with staff to plan, schedule, and execute the Coffee Break Series, including guest coordination, run-of-show preparation, and post-event follow-up.
  • Ensure all event-related details are communicated effectively across internal teams, partners, and participants to deliver a seamless experience.

Operational & Team Responsibilities

  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously with strong organization and project management skills.
  • Assist with general association operations, including marketing mailings, event preparation, office inventory, and equipment readiness.
  • Maintain excellent working relationships with Board, members, staff, and industry partners.


Required Qualifications

  • Proven experience developing and writing online courses and training programs.
  • Strong working knowledge of the senior living industry, workforce training trends, and regulatory/compliance topics (highly preferred).
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (especially Excel and Teams), Zoom, Constant Contact, MemberClicks, QuickBooks, and learning management systems. Ability to quickly learn new tools.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with high attention to detail and confidentiality.
  • Demonstrated project management skills and ability to manage multiple deadlines.
  • Association, nonprofit, or senior living operations experience is a strong plus.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
