Position Specific Description
Our Technical Services Department is looking for a Principal Engineer to join their team in Jupiter, FL. This position is accountable for the support and reliability of transformer fleet and associated components. A candidate with experience in a manufacturing setting is highly preferred.

This job is responsible for applying diversified knowledge of engineering principles and practices to a broad variety of assignments and related fields. Employees in this role evaluate, select, and apply standard techniques, procedures, and criteria to perform a task or sequence of tasks for conventional projects. This position conducts analysis on system performance and reliability strategy and provides recommendations.

The Selected Candidate For This Role Will
- Develop transformer designs, prepare bid specifications, and perform factory acceptance witnessing for ordered transformers.
- Evaluate new transformer vendors and provide recommendations on path forward.
- Perform failure root cause investigations and develop countermeasures and plans to prevent additional failures.
- Provide technical support for the development of the annual budget and work plan to repair conditions identified by the condition assessment program.
- Ensure compliance with applicable standards.
- Provide recommendations on appropriate safety stocks for large power transformers.
- Provide technical support for operations teams related to power transformers, autotransformers, and generator step up units.
- Provide technical support for the Safety Program.

- Provides engineering, design and environmental support
- Tracks and reports on project negotiations and performance
- Delivers company standards, policies, training, and support of organization
- Prepares communications, presentations and provides support at meetings
- Formulates researches, and develops improvement measures
- Works with other departments within the organization to establish customer requirements and project costs
- Ability to meet attendance and storm duty requirements
- Ability to work extended hours
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned
- Valid Driver's License (NON CDL)
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (non-Engineering Technology), OR
- Master’s degree in Engineering, if the bachelor’s degree is not in a pure engineering field
- At least one degree (Bachelor’s or Master’s) must be from an ABET-accredited program
- Experience: 7 years post-Bachelor’s degree in engineering
- Certified Professional Engineer (PE)
- Six Sigma Black Belt Certified
- Six Sigma Green Belt Certified
- Master's Degree
- Six Sigma Yellow Belt Certified
- Six Sigma Master Black Belt
