Farm Equipment Operator/shuttle Driver and Chauffeurs

Shuttle drivers and Chauffeurs: will pick up workers, take them to the worksite, monitor the workers to ensure they are working, and drive them back to their housing. They are required to live in the housing provided by the employer and take workers once a week to the bank, grocery store, and the laundry mat. Must have or be able to obtain a farm labor contractor license immediately prior to getting hired. Random drug testing will be post-hire at the employer's expense. Any crew leader (farm labor contractor employee) employed under this job order must have a valid state and federal Farm Labor Contractor Certificate of Registration and must abide by all the requirements of the Migrant and Seasonal Agricultural Worker Protection Act (MSPA). The employer understands that they are responsible for assuring that all conditions of this agreement are met regardless of any acts or omissions of the crew leader. Monitors will be the only ones who communicate with workers to make sound decisions for daily tasks and will come up with work schedules for workers to follow after they have been instructed by the employer. Drivers will also drive a loaded watermelon bus during watermelon season. All drivers must possess a Class B license or equivalent from their home country. Watermelon bus drivers will drive in the field while the loading crew is filling the bus up. Once full, the driver will drive it to the packing house, on or near the farm and drive back to the field and repeat this process. During sweet potato harvest. Drivers will drive flat buses in the sweet potato field while the workers are filling up the sweet potato boxes. Once full, drivers will drive to the unloading site or packing house and get unloaded by the forklifts. Drivers will then drive back to the field, repeating this process throughout the work week. 45-2091.00 Agricultural Equipment Operators: Workers will drive and control farm equipment to support agricultural activities such as tilling soil; planting, cultivating and harvesting crops. May operate equipment to perform post-harvest tasks such as husking, shelling threshing. Load and unload crops or materials, manually or using conveyors, hand trucks, forklifts and transfer augers. Workers will mix specified materials or chemicals and dump solutions, Powders, or seeds into planter or sprayer machinery. Spray fertilizer or pesticide solutions to control insects, fungus and weed growth, and diseases, using hand sprayers. observe and listen to machinery operation to detect equipment malfunctions. Such activities prolonged walking, standing, bending, stooping, and reaching. The job is outdoors and continues in all types of weather. Workers may be requested to submit to random drug or alcohol tests at no cost to the worker. Failure to comply with the request or testing positive may result in immediate termination. All testing will occur post-hire and is not a part of the interview process. A negative result may be required post-hire and before commencing work. Must be able to lift 75 lbs. to shoulder height repetitively throughout the workday and able to lift and carry 75 lbs. in the field. Must not hinder another worker's productivity. Use of a personal cell phone or another personal electronic device during working hours is strictly prohibited except for work-related calls or emergencies, and violation may result in immediate termination. Though not a hiring requirement, if a worker drives a company vehicle during the period of employment, then at the time of operating the company vehicle, the driver must possess a valid driver's license issued by a U.S. state or foreign equivalent and operate the company vehicle in accordance with the license restrictions and vehicle classifications applicable to that license. Requires two months of verifiable prior farmworker experience in the crop activities listed.
