Key responsibilities/Essential functions:
- Supervise, train, and schedule maintenance staff, ensuring optimal team performance and compliance with safety standards.
- Oversee preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on production equipment, building systems, and facility infrastructure.
- Monitor equipment performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement solutions to reduce downtime.
- Develop, assign, and track work orders using the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) or manual logs.
- Ensure adherence to OSHA and company safety policies; conduct safety audits and maintain a culture of safe work practices.
- Manage spare parts inventory and coordinate with vendors for equipment, supplies, and contracted services.
- Collaborate with operations and engineering to support continuous improvement initiatives and equipment upgrades.
- Maintain detailed records of repairs, inspections, and maintenance activities.
- Support budgeting, cost control, and capital improvement planning related to maintenance operations.
- Communicate any discrepancies or equipment malfunctions to department leaders.
- Adhere to all company safety policies, procedures, and personal protective equipment requirements.
- Ensure the department is clean, organized, and free of hazards to comply with safety regulations.
- Perform other duties as assigned, including assisting with stock counts and seasonal projects.
- Regular attendance is required.
- Technical/vocational training or associate degree in Industrial Maintenance, Engineering, or related field required or 5 years of relevant field experience in leading maintenance function in an industrial environment would serve in lieu of the educational requirement.
- 3 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing, industrial, or facilities environment, with at least 1–2 years in a supervisory role.
- Strong mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems knowledge.
- Experience with CMMS, preventive maintenance programs, and root cause analysis.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety practices.
- Occasional use of ladders or step stools to access high storage areas and frequent use of stairs.
- Manufacturing or industrial facility setting.
- Frequent walking, standing, climbing, and exposure to production equipment.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in varying temperatures or conditions.
- Follow all GMP practices, and food safety regulations
- Work may involve exposure to varying temperatures (hot or cold), dust, noise, and occasional fumes, depending on the manufacturing setting.
- Personal protective equipment (PPE) such as gloves, safety glasses, and hearing protection may be required.
