Scale Operator

GENERAL PURPOSE

The purpose of this position is responsible for preparing carts for shipment to customer locations according to customers’ specification and Florida Linen Services practices and protocol. This position works with other plant staff as a team; ensuring all customer orders are filled, weighing carts and entering data into the computer, and manually loading carts into delivery trucks.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Pushing or pulling loaded carts to and from the weighing station; checking exiting customer orders.
• Checking packed orders by weighing carts and entering customer cart weight into the Enterprise Linen Management System.
• Responsible for operation of the Enterprise Linen Management System; entering correct data and ensuring carts are arranged for truck loading and plant departure as scheduled and required by customer.
• Ability to adhere to all safety practices. Maintaining the washroom clean and safe.
• Ability to stand more than 8 hours per day.
• Will be required to perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

· Must speak, read, write, comprehend and understand Basic English language. Must possess good verbal communication skills.

· Must be able to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and Holidays.

· Must possess an intermediate to advanced computer literacy level.

· Must possess mathematical skills at an intermediate level in order to calculate percentages, poundage, and other mathematical formulas required for the job.

• Must be able to understand and differentiate various types of linen. Quality orientation and high attention to detail.
• Must be able to establish work flow processes as instructed by management; managing multiple tasks and priorities and easily adapt to changing situations.
• Must have a minimum of 1 year of laundry experience, including some experience as a Shift Leader or Coordinator.
• Must be very organized with the ability to follow instructions with minimal supervision.
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment.
• Ability to life in excess of 50 lbs. and continuously push/pull carts over 500 lbs.
