Assistant Maintenance Specialist - Maintenance

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES & REQUIREMENTS

The University Athletic Association at the University of Florida is searching for an Assistant Maintenance Specialist to assist in the overall general maintenance of the buildings and facilities of the University Athletic Association. Responsibilities primarily consist of working with the heating ventilation and A/C systems. Other responsibilities include performing minor electrical repairs and maintenance, minor and moderately complex plumbing repairs, rough carpentry work, painting and hanging signage.

This position requires the incumbent to trouble shoot general maintenance issues; possess a positive attitude and strong customer service skills; engage effectively with others of diverse cultures or backgrounds; and work a non-standard work week which will include evenings, weekends, and holidays.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Required Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED*
• One year of general maintenance experience*
• Valid driver’s license

Preferred Qualifications:

• Three years of general maintenance experience
• HVAC experience
• Electrical and plumbing experience
• Knowledge of building automation systems

*An equivalent combination of technical degree and experience may be accepted in lieu of listed requirement.
