We are seeking an experienced Commercial Multi-Line Underwriter that will underwrite and manage a diverse portfolio of commercial property and casualty business, including Workers Compensation, General Liability, Commercial Property, Commercial Auto, Umbrella, and other related coverages. This position will be located in our Maitland, FL home office. The successful individual for this position must have strong technical expertise in a multi-line capacity and enjoy establishing and maintaining relationships with assigned agencies. This is an exciting opportunity for the right individual as we expand into the remaining property and casualty lines of commercial insurance.

Responsibilities include:
- Analyze and evaluate new and renewal commercial insurance submissions.
- Determine acceptability of risks in accordance with company underwriting guidelines and appetite.
- Evaluate exposures and controls by line of business, loss experience, operations, and risk characteristics.
- Offer terms, conditions, coverages, and pricing recommendations.
- Effectively communicate with agents to drive submissions and results.
- Manage an assigned agency territory and book of business to meet or exceed growth and profit objectives.
- Perform external agency marketing activities through regular agency visitation and telephone contact.
- Participate and contribute with subject matter knowledge to ensure smooth kickoff of additional property and casualty lines of coverage.
- Work closely with the Vice President of Underwriting to ensure successful launch of program.
The ideal candidate will have:
- A minimum of 5 years of commercial multi-line underwriting experience in Florida.
- Strong knowledge of commercial property and casualty insurance coverages.
- Experience underwriting small and large/complex risks.
- A bachelor’s degree in business, finance, risk management, marketing or equivalent experience.
- Strong sales & marketing skills. Successful track record of developing productive agency relationships.
- Excellent communication skills, able to clearly and effectively communicate the company’s message during agency/client meetings & presentations.
- Industry designation(s) preferred.
