Responsibilities
- Coordinate freight dispatching activities by assigning shipments to appropriate carriers and vehicles based on delivery schedules, capacity, and route optimization.
- Utilize transportation management systems such as Crown Data systems and vehicle dispatch software to plan routes, track shipments, and update statuses in real-time.
- Manage internal communication channels including multi-line phone systems and internal messaging platforms to relay instructions clearly and promptly.
- Maintain accurate data entry for shipment details, driver logs, and delivery documentation while ensuring compliance with DOT regulations.
- Monitor GPS and GIS (Geographic Information Systems) tools for route planning, traffic updates, and vehicle tracking to optimize road transportation operations.
- Handle customer service inquiries via phone calls with professionalism and courtesy, providing timely updates on freight status or resolving issues efficiently.
- Collaborate with logistics teams, 3PL providers, fleet management personnel, and shipping & receiving staff to coordinate freight movements seamlessly.

Qualifications
- Proven experience in freight dispatching or transportation planning within a logistics or supply chain environment.
- Strong knowledge of road transportation operations, shipping & receiving procedures, and fleet management practices.
- Excellent communication skills including phone etiquette, multi-line phone system operation, and Emails.
- Demonstrated organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced setting.
- Analytical skills for route optimization, data analysis, and problem-solving related to freight movements.
- Familiarity with GIS, GPS technology, DOT regulations, and logistics best practices.
- Competency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel) for reporting and documentation purposes; typing skills are essential.
- Ability to handle multiple priorities simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail in data entry and record keeping.
