We are looking for dedicated Ophthalmic Testers for our rapidly growing practice!

No experience necessary – Willing to train the right person!

Our doctors have dedicated numerous years of medical school, residency, fellowship and post-fellowship training to eye-disease research and education.

Summary:

The Ophthalmic Tester is able to handle a wide range of duties while using equipment to perform the initial testing needed to prepare a patient for an exam.

Due to the nature of the business, this position will be required to travel to multiple locations, based on clinic needs.

Requirements:

  • Basic understanding of medical terminology (Preferably Ophthalmology)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to interact with patients and employees in a courteous, professional manner at all times
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to multi-task and function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment
  • Travel to other offices, as needed

Florida Eye Specialists is a Drug-Free workplace. All potential hires will be required to take and clear a pre-employment drug screen upon job offer.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to tolerate exposure to flashing lights and transition from light to dark environments with ease
  • Frequent bending, reaching, and repetitive hand movements (specifically keyboarding and writing),
  • Standing, walking, squatting and sitting, with some lifting, pushing and pulling up to 10 pounds.
  • Travel to other offices, including Surgery Center, as needed

Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum one year of experience in a medical practice or hospital setting preferred
  • Experience in an ophthalmology practice preferred
  • COA/COT certification is preferred

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $16.00 per hour
