FEFC supports Florida-based businesses by offering financial assistance to aid their expansion in global markets. Through its efforts, FEFC plays a vital role in strengthening Florida's economy.


Role Description

New Business Development

  • Identify new leads, as well as take over current leads referred by various channels – City/State Partners, sister associations, State/Federal entities, Chambers of Commerce, banks, and other inquiries.
  • Identify potential exporters and the decision makers within the organization. Constantly meet with senior decision makers for proposal presentation.
  • Research and build relationships with new exporters.
  • Handle objections by clarifying, emphasizing agreements and working through differences to a positive conclusion. *Use a variety of styles to advice appropriately.
  • Broaden our business partnership network and develop new partnerships with banks and non-bank lenders.
  • Proper business attire is required. Present an image of professionalism and ethics that represents the company in a positive manner.


Client Servicing

  • Review portfolio to ensure exporters are receiving the appropriate export assistance.
  • Evaluate exporter’s progress to determine appropriate transition term to other programs.
  • Work with technical staff and other internal colleagues to meet customer needs.
  • Arrange and participate in internal and external exporter debriefs.


Business Development Planning

  • Continuous communication with Credit Manager to review status of application and clarify any questions.
  • Attend industry functions, such as networking events and conferences, and provide feedback and information on export programs (Federal & State) market statistics and financial trends.
  • Present to and consult with mid and senior level management on business trends with a view to developing new services, products, and communication channels.
  • Identify opportunities for campaigns, services, and communication channels that will lead to an increase in exporter participation.
  • Establish and build partnerships with banks and non-bank lenders.


Management and Research

  • Attend weekly staff meetings and submit progress reports and ensure data is accurate.
  • Ensure that data is accurately entered and managed within the company’s data base.
  • Forecast targets and ensure they are met by the deadline.
  • Track and record activity on accounts and help to close deals to meet these targets.
  • Work with team to ensure that prerequisites (prequalification) are fulfilled within a timely manner.
  • Research and develop a thorough understanding of the company’s people and capabilities.
  • Understand the company’s goal and purpose so that it will continue to enhance the company’s performance. 


Qualifications

  • Degree qualification
  • 5 years of above corporate business development experience in trade finance/factoring/credit sector
  • Public speaking experience
  • Excellent communications skills
  • Solid knowledge in trade finance solutions
  • Language proficiency in English and Spanish
