Lead Medical Assistant

We are seeking a Medical Assistant/Surgery scheduler to become a part of our team! You must have 2 yrs surgery scheduling or Lead medical assisting experience and perform routine administrative and clinical assignments to keep the medical facility running smoothly.

Looking for a professional appearance, outgoing personality combined with the appropriate level of discretion necessary for an upscale physicians office.

Seeking well-qualified candidates with excellent communication skills and able to scribe and have a dynamic personality. Must have exceptional multi-tasking abilities and the ability to work in a fast paced medical office. Bilingual is a plus.

Responsibilities:

• Schedule surgeries accurate and efficient
• Handle all administrative duties in a timely manner
• Perform routine clinical tasks to support medical staff
• Communicate with insurance companies for proper billing procedures
• Escort patients to exam rooms
• Secures all template changes
• Performs all orders for medical supplies
• Keeps all back office staff up to date on any insurance changes or policy changes with surgery scheduling.
• Ensures that charts are complete for all providers the day before.
• Reports potential problems to Office Manager to ensure smooth operations.
• Greets patients and visitors in a prompt, courteous and helpful manner.
• Takes accurate and legible messages, which include time, date and initials.
• Answers clinical questions for patients and family members and routes all other calls correctly.
• Annotates patient arrivals, no shows and cancellations correctly in EMR system, if getting results make sure they reschedule.
• Completes special projects or performs other duties

​Qualifications:

• Previous experience in healthcare administration or other related fields
• Familiarity with medical billing procedures
• Strong organizational skills
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment

Requirements:

• Pass a drug screen and full background check
• 2-3 References or more for verification
• Must be proficient and use EHR system (Eclinical Works a plus), and have excellent typing skills
• Must have excellent customer service skills, detail to patient care, verbal and written communication skills.
• Must be computer literate and dedicated to performing quality patient care.
