Position Summary
The Laborer supports drilling and blasting operations, field crews, and site preparation activities at FES project locations. This role includes material handling, basic equipment support, safety compliance, and general labor tasks essential to keeping projects running smoothly. Work is performed outdoors and may require adapting to changing weather and site conditions.
Primary Responsibilities
- Assist drilling and blasting crews with daily field operations
- Load, transport, and position tools, materials, and supplies on job sites
- Perform general site cleanup, debris removal, and ground maintenance
- Support equipment setup, staging, and teardown activities
- Follow all FES safety rules, PPE requirements, and site protocols
- Shovel, lift, rake, compact, and perform other routine labor tasks
- Assist in staging and securing blast materials under supervision
- Operate small hand tools and basic construction equipment (training provided)
- Maintain organized work areas, laydown yards, and job trailers
- Communicate clearly with supervisors and team members
Qualifications
- Construction, mining, or outdoor labor experience preferred; not required
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 75 lbs
- Willingness to work outdoors in varying environments
- Ability to travel to different job sites as needed
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation preferred
- Able to follow instructions, work as part of a team, and maintain strong safety awareness
