Overview
The Mechanical Foreman oversees the day-to-day maintenance and repair of the company’s diesel fleet, cranes, and heavy equipment. WORK ENVIRONMENT
The employee regularly works in outdoor weather conditions and may be exposed to vibration, fumes, airborne particles, and moving mechanical parts. Work may occasionally involve elevated areas or confined spaces. The noise level in the work environment is typically loud.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

- Lead and coordinate the activities of mechanics engaged in inspecting, diagnosing, and repairing diesel trucks, cranes, and heavy equipment.
- Perform advanced diagnostics and repairs as needed; assist mechanics with complex service issues.
- Assign and monitor daily work orders, ensuring quality, timeliness, and compliance with maintenance procedures.
- Conduct safety briefings, enforce adherence to company safety policies, and ensure proper use of PPE and safe work practices.
- Review completed work for accuracy, quality, and documentation completeness.
- Maintain records of repairs, parts usage, and preventive maintenance schedules.
- Communicate with the Mechanical Manager on equipment status, parts needs, and operational priorities.
- Train, mentor, and evaluate mechanics to develop technical proficiency and adherence to company standards.
- Operate and oversee the use of support equipment such as forklifts, man lifts, and service trucks.
- Assist in shop organization, parts inventory, and maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
- Other duties as assigned by management

- High school diploma or GED required; technical or vocational training in diesel or heavy equipment repair preferred.
- Valid Driver’s License required.
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems, hydraulics, and electrical components.
- Must comply with all safety rules, policies, and procedures, including wearing required safety equipment.
- Must be able to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
