What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mold Set-up position at Florida Custom Mold, Inc.?
Florida Custom Mold is a privately held company incorporated in 1988. Throughout the growth of our company, we have moved from being a custom mold maker supporting a small number of customers to a Total Solution Provider - offering services such as modeling, injection molding of plastic parts, as well as UV printing and turnkey assembly. In addition, we offer numerous secondary services such as threaded insert installation - serving in excess of 150 clients each year.
Job Duties
Set up a variety of injection molds in various injection molding presses. Complete set ups that will produce molded parts in compliance with customer specifications
Complete required paperwork accurately and timely.
Perform other duties as assigned by department Supervisor, i.e. covering machine operators breaks.
Give breaks, sweep, or mop floors and/or wash down plant processing areas if required. Assist in housekeeping efforts of the production floor when not busy. Make sure clamps sides of machines are clean.
Provide support to manufacturing and secondary operations. Pull and set up auxiliary equipments such as mills and drill presses.
Pre-identify and pull production tools from storage and set-up molds in presses. Locate and set up appropriate fixtures for use in both production and secondary operations.
Identify and report leaks. Make sure ejectors and core switches are wired properly. Clean up all spare hoses and clamp when set up is done. Make sure parts are cleaned up from the previous run.
Maintain equipment, work areas and housekeeping standards. Be vigilant to safety issues, concerns, and hazards. Report unsafe conditions immediately to prevent accidents and/or injuries.
Report problems associated with materials, machine, or equipment operation/function, etc. immediately to appropriate personnel to prevent production delays or rejections.
Complete accurately and timely any required paperwork and Plex check sheet, mold set-up checklist, and mold shut down check list.
Perform other duties as assigned by the department Supervisor.
Responsibilities:
- Review production schedules, Set-up Injection Molds, robots, , etc. to ensure press is ready for start-up.
- Perform basic machine and equipment maintenance.
- Shut-down of machines.
- Assist with start-ups.
- Any other duties as assigned.
- Stage molds for set up
- Set up workstations for optimum work flow
- Must have forklift experience
- Ability to speak, read, write basic English.
Must have excellent visual skills, color vision, depth perception, near and far acuity. Must be able to lift, push and/or pull up to 20 lbs regularly and up to 50 lbs occasionally. Must be able to bend, reach, walk and stand up to 80% of the workday. Must have strong written and verbal communication skills; must be able to read.
