Education And Experience
- A Bachelor’s Degree in planning, land development, public administration, or related field, and seven years of experience in professional planning, with at least five years in a supervisory capacity.
- A Master's degree in planning or a related field and/or professional certification are preferred and may substitute for two years of experience. Redevelopment experience is preferred.
Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
- Comprehensive knowledge of the advanced principles and practices of urban and regional planning.
- Comprehensive knowledge of municipal and development finance as they apply to planning.
- Thorough knowledge of code enforcement and building inspection processes, procedures, and regulations.
- Thorough knowledge of current literature and recent developments in the field of urban planning.
- Ability to interpret and analyze technical and statistical information and to prepare and resent technical oral and written reports.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, officials, other agencies, and the general public.
