Under administrative direction of the City Manager or designee, this position performs highly complex and responsible managerial and administrative work directing the functions of the Community Development Department including planning, zoning and Code Compliance. The incumbent is responsible for planning, leading and facilitating quality development and redevelopment, maintaining neighborhood sustainability and enhancing the human and natural environment of the City. This involves the enforcement of federal, state, and local laws and ordinances related to state comprehensive plan, land development code and municipal code. This position requires extensive knowledge and skills in unified development of coordinated public, private, economic/redevelopment activities and partnerships to accomplish the City's strategic planning initiatives.
