What are the responsibilities and job description for the Admissions Representative position at Florida Career College?
The Adult Admissions Representative is the key link in the admissions process of adult (non-high school) students to enroll at Florida Career College. The Adult Admissions Representative is responsible for all recruiting functions in the admissions process for adult students to Florida Career College, as well as promoting Florida Career College as a college choice for all students. Additionally, the Adult Admissions Representative is responsible for some generation of inquiries by attending career fairs and completing activity reports to be submitted to the Director of Admissions.
Essential Functions
- The Adult Admissions Representative will effectively recruit qualified students into our programs.
- The Adult Admissions Representative duties include 60% making phone calls to prospective students, 20% conducting and closing interviews with prospects and 20% follow-up with applicants to ensure that they have every opportunity to start school.
- The Adult Admissions Representative will be responsible for:
- Represent Florida Career College with professionalism and honesty.
- Respond to all inquiries into the college in a timely manner to schedule visits to the College.
- Interview and qualify candidates for admission into the College and assist students with the appropriate enrollment paperwork.
- Consistently conduct follow-up with all applicants to ensure successful enrollment.
- Participate in appropriate recruitment and enrollment activities including: open houses, training sessions, orientation programs, career days, etc.
- Develop opportunities to identify qualified candidates for the college through referrals and networking.
- Complete daily, weekly, and run rate activity and performance reports to be submitted to the Director of Admissions.

- Ability to work cross-departmentally and with multiple Florida Career College locations to successfully meet new student inquiry and enrollment goals.
- IT systems proficiency; Microsoft Office – in particular MS Excel.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Polished sales presentation skills.

- An Associate Degree is highly desired
- Degrees in business, communications, marketing, or sales are preferred.
- One to two years of outside sales and/or presentation experience is preferred.
- Experience in the Admissions department of a higher education institution is preferred. Experience in the Admissions department of a proprietary education institution is strongly preferred.
Work Environment:
- The position will be located at the Florida Career College Miami Campus.
- The Admissions Representative reports directly to the Director of Admissions.
