POSITION OVERVIEW:
Reporting to the Mobile Maintenance Superintendent, the Procurement Specialist is responsible for purchasing maintenance materials, parts, equipment, tools, and supplies, and overseeing the administration of purchase orders, ensuring materials and services are delivered on time and within budget. Initiate and manage supply agreements and contracts for the department. Assist planning and other personnel with obtaining service and supply proposals.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Analyze requests for services, research contractor documents to verify them effectively and accurately.
- Track orders and ensure timely delivery of goods and services, maintaining appropriate inventory levels of stocked items.
- Maintain accurate records and purchasing documentation.
- Maintain monthly cost savings reports and end of month budget reports
- Stay up to date with industry trends and new products.
- Continuously work to identify cost savings and procurement efficiencies.
- Communicate with vendors regarding pricing, availability, and delivery timelines. Compare available goods with industry trends to determine appropriate pricing.
- Continuously express and exchange ideas by means of the spoken word and interpret written materials and follow verbal and written instructions.
- Support vendor onboarding and supplier relationship management.
- Frequently communicate and interact with mine personnel and outside contractors to contract services.
- Assist other departments as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor' s degree in a business or related field preferred.
- A minimum of five (3) years’ procurement experience required.
- ERP experience (SAP, Oracle, etc.) required.
- Ability to work in a team environment required.
- Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills required.
- Excellent safety record with ability to demonstrate safety leadership qualities required.
- Excellent planning, problem solving, decision making, organizational and interpersonal skills required.
- Demonstrate strong computer skills required.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds required.
- Demonstrated ability to perform essential functions of the position required.
