Primary Purpose:
- Organizational Relation: The Technology Student Worker is accountable to and works closely with the Systems Administrator and/or Technology Coordinator to determine work priorities.
- Primary function: To prepare and deploy computing devices for the upcoming school year. To set-up, maintain, test, and repair computers, network devices, and networks in the school district.
III. Responsibilities:
- Collect and move returned computers to centralized storage areas
- Sort and arrange computers as necessary
- Diagnose, repair, refresh, clean, and tag computers for redeployment
- Unpack, configure, tag, and deploy new computers (refresh for obsolescence)
- Report discrepancies of invoices and orders
- Install system images and authorized software
- Maintain a database of assets
- Move, reconnect, and test computers reassigned to new locations
- Migrate user files and settings to new computers
- Diagnose, test, and replace failed computer components
- Upgrade end user software as needed
- Provide end user training
- Perform data backup and recovery
- Delivery and replacement of printer consumables
- Answer and resolve Helpdesk calls and trouble tickets
- Participate in annual auditing of district technology assets
- Other duties as assigned
- Minimum job qualifications:
- Floresville High School Student
- Must be 16 years of age or older
- Must be able to present acceptable identification documents for employment verification eligibility purposes
- Active membership in the FHS TRT preferred
- Reliable transportation preferred
Time requirements:
Monday – Thursday, 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM (up to 30 hours per week available)
- Specific shift schedule negotiable
June 1st – August 10th (negotiable)
Supervisory Responsibilities:
None.
Equipment Used:
Computers, Networks, Phones, Printers, Tablets, Videoconference Equipment, and Copiers. Hand tools and test instruments for electronic repairs and cable installations.
Working Conditions:

Climbing, stooping, bending, & kneeling. Frequent use of hand tools and electronic testing equipment. Frequent district wide travel. Maintain emotional control under stress. Occasional prolonged and irregular hours.
Salary : $8
