TITLE: Bus Driver
2. Good health (required physical examination annually).
3. Valid SC Driver’s License
4. Valid SC Bus Driver’s License.
5. No more than four (4) points on license.
6. No criminal record.
7. Demonstrated aptitude for successful completion of the performance responsibilities listed below.
REPORTS TO: Bus Supervisor
JOB GOAL:
To provide safe and efficient transportation so that students may enjoy the fullest possible advantage from the district’s curriculum and extracurricular program.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Obeys all traffic laws.
2. Observes all mandatory safety regulations for school buses.
3. Maintains discipline when students are on the bus.
4. Reports undisciplined students to the proper persons.
5. Keeps assigned bus clean.
6. Keeps to assigned schedule and route.
7. Checks bus before each operation for mechanical defects.
8. Notifies the appropriate authorities in case of mechanical failure or lateness.
9. Discharges students only at authorized stops.
10. Exercises responsible leadership when on out-of-district school trips.
11. Transports only authorized students.
12. Reports accidents and completes required reports.
13. Enforces regulations against smoking, eating, and drinking on the bus.
14. Reports to supervisor when driver’s license points exceed four (4).
15. Prepares route descriptions.
16. Obeys all school and district rules and regulations.
17. Other duties as requested.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Salary and work year to be established by the district.
EVALUATION:
Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordancewith provisions of the Board's policy on evaluation of classified personnel.
Salary Range: $12.06-$17.16
