JOB SUMMARY
Florence Crittenton Services is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Parent Educator to join our team. The Parent Educator oversees Florence Crittenton's prenatal and parenting programs, providing full support, classes, lab workshops, and case management.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
· Creates and delivers parenting education programs tailored to the developmental stages of children, including curriculum for teen parents.
· Conducts group sessions and/or one-on-ones to teach parenting skills, child development milestones, and conscious discipline strategies.
· Coordinates campus-wide initiatives in Car Seat Safety and CPR.
· Teaches young parents how to manage stress, strengthen family bonds, and create a positive home environment.
· Provide young parents with resources and techniques to assist with their parenting future.
· Perform additional duties as needed to ensure Florence Crittenton Services' success.

· Instructional planning and delivery, classroom management, and student participation.
· Understand young parents and empathize with them to recognize the difficulties they experience; consider social elements influencing their situation.
· Capacity to calmly, composedly control and diffuse challenging or explosive circumstances. Evaluating risks and linking young parents with quick support or services helps them through crises.
· Keeps exact, thorough records on client contacts, referrals, and resources used.
· Aware of and adheres to privacy and confidentiality, safeguards personal, medical, etc.
· Capacity to regularly support, encourage, work, and behave in a way that advances Florence Crittenton Services' mission, vision, and values.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
· Colorado Department of Education License with endorsement in Early Childhood Education, Health, or Family and Consumer Sciences required
· Three or more years of teaching experience required
· Two or more years of experience working with young people is preferred.
· Must have reliable transportation and a valid driver's license.
· Pass MVR (driving record) history report with valid proof of insurance is required.
· History of criminal history and other criteria must be satisfactory for the results of the background check.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
· Sitting at a desk for extended periods while working on a computer is common.
· Able to lift 50 pounds occasionally and/or 25 pounds frequently.
· At times, this position may involve additional hours during the evenings and possibly weekends.
· While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or listen.
· Specific vision abilities required by this job include close and distant vision and the ability to adjust focus.
