Role Description The Licensed Program Director is a full-time, on-site leadership role based in Knoxville, TN, responsible for overseeing clinical and program operations in alignment with the agency’s mission and regulatory standards. This role directs program planning, implementation, and evaluation for residential, outpatient, and/or community-based services, ensuring high-quality, trauma-informed care for youth and families. Daily responsibilities include supervising and coaching multidisciplinary staff, managing caseloads and service delivery, monitoring documentation and compliance, and coordinating with external partners, funders, and referral sources. The Program Director develops and manages program budgets, contributes to policies and procedures, supports performance improvement initiatives, and participates in community outreach and stakeholder engagement. This position also serves as a licensed clinical resource, providing guidance on treatment planning, risk management, and ethical practice.
Qualifications
- Licensed mental health or social services professional (e.g., LCSW, LPC, LMFT, Licensed Psychologist) in the state of Tennessee, or eligible for licensure within a defined timeframe.
- Demonstrated experience in program leadership and administration, including supervision of clinical teams, program development, and performance management in a behavioral health or social services setting.
- Knowledge of adolescent mental health, substance use treatment, trauma-informed care, and co-occurring disorders, preferably within residential or community-based programs.
