Position Overview
The Customer Service Representative will play a key role in managing flood insurance policy renewals and maintaining communication with clients, mortgage companies, and insurance carriers. The position requires strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple client interactions through phone and email.
This role focuses heavily on renewal processing, client service, and coverage review to ensure customers maintain the appropriate flood insurance coverage at the most competitive rates available.
Key Responsibilities
- Process flood insurance policy renewals for residential and commercial clients
- Confirm policy coverage and renewal details with customers prior to renewal
- Send required regulatory documentation and renewal notices to policyholders
- Coordinate with mortgage companies to ensure premiums are paid through escrow accounts
- Prepare and send invoices to mortgage lenders for escrow payment processing
- Manage incoming and outgoing phone calls and email correspondence related to renewals and policy servicing
- Review renewal premiums and identify significant premium increases
- Quote alternative coverage options through multiple insurance carriers when appropriate
- Present competitive policy options to customers and assist with policy placement
- Maintain accurate records and documentation in agency management systems
- Provide high-quality customer service while guiding clients through the renewal process
Qualifications
- Prior customer service experience required
- Property & Casualty Insurance License strongly preferred (or willingness to obtain as a condition of employment)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- High level of organization and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple client interactions and deadlines
- Comfort working with email systems, CRM platforms, and insurance management software
- Professional, courteous demeanor when working with clients, lenders, and carriers
