What are the responsibilities and job description for the Special Education Paraeducator position at Flood Brook School?
Flood Brook School is seeking a Special Education Paraeducator to work with students in grades K-8 beginning in the 2026/2027 school year! The Special Education Paraeducator performs a variety of instructional and/or support duties to assist the school and teachers in instruction, supervision, and education of students in groups or in one-on-one teacher to student ratios. The Special Education Paraeducator supports students in all aspects of their education by supporting an environment conducive to learning. As a positive and nurturing member of the school team, this position understands and attends to a variety of students’ academic, social, emotional, and behavior needs. The Special Education Paraeducator supports school teams in the implementation of teaching plans and/or services for individual students as per the student’s Individual Education Plan and/or programs designed by a teacher or other professional as directed.
Paraeducators work under the day-to-day direction of the staff member(s) supported including the classroom teacher, special education teacher, SLP, OT, PT, and under the direct supervision of the Principal. Teachers and/or special education personnel provide specific directions and oversight for supervision and/or instructional support.

Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills are essential. Pay Rate:
- $18.50 to $20.50 per hour, based on years of experience.
