Overview
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Home Health Aides to provide essential support and care to individuals in their homes. As a Home Health Aide, you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for our clients by assisting with daily activities and ensuring their comfort and safety. This position requires a strong commitment to patient care, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively with individuals of varying needs, including those with developmental disabilities, dementia, and Alzheimer's.
Responsibilities
- Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation.
- Monitor and document vital signs and changes in patient conditions using EMR or EHR systems.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to clients, promoting their overall well-being.
- Administer medications as prescribed and ensure compliance with medication schedules.
- Assist with mobility using equipment such as Hoyer lifts when necessary.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients by performing light housekeeping tasks including cleaning, laundry, and meal preparation.
- Observe patients for any changes in health status or behavior and report findings to healthcare professionals.
- Ensure adherence to HIPAA regulations while handling medical records and documentation.
- Provide specialized care for clients with Alzheimer’s or dementia, focusing on memory care techniques.
- Support hospice care needs as required, ensuring comfort during end-of-life transitions.
Requirements
- Previous experience in home health care, assisted living, or long-term care settings is preferred.
- Familiarity with medical terminology and basic nursing skills such as CPR certification is highly desirable.
- Experience working with individuals who have developmental disabilities or require specialized care is a plus.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with clients, families, and healthcare teams.
- Ability to perform physical tasks associated with caregiving including lifting, standing for long periods, and assisting with mobility.
- Knowledge of patient observation techniques and the ability to recognize signs of distress or changes in condition.
- Commitment to providing high-quality patient care while respecting the dignity and privacy of clients.
