Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Dietary Aide to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will assist in meal preparation, food service, and sanitation within a healthcare or assisted living environment. This role is vital in ensuring residents and patients receive nutritious, safe, and well-presented meals. Prior experience in food production, dietary departments, or food service is preferred, but training will be provided for the right candidate. The Dietary Aide plays a key role in supporting the overall well-being and satisfaction of residents through excellent customer service and adherence to food safety standards.
Responsibilities
- Assist with meal preparation and food production according to dietary guidelines and safety standards
- Serve meals to residents or patients with professionalism and courtesy
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen and dining areas, including cleaning, bussing, and sanitation tasks
- Follow proper food handling procedures to ensure safety and compliance with health regulations
- Assist with food portioning, plating, and presentation to ensure appealing meals
- Support the dietary department by organizing supplies and assisting with inventory management
- Ensure timely delivery of meals during scheduled service times
- Adhere to all food safety protocols, including proper sanitation practices and safe food handling procedures
- Support team members in maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work environment
Requirements
- Prior experience in assisted living, nursing homes, hospitals, or the food industry is highly desirable
- Knowledge of food preparation, serving, and sanitation practices
- Strong time management skills to handle meal schedules efficiently
- Excellent customer service skills with a caring attitude toward residents or patients
- Experience with food handling, cooking, or culinary activities preferred
- Familiarity with dietary department procedures or dietetics is a plus
- Ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety in all tasks
- Basic understanding of food safety regulations and proper sanitation techniques
