Flint Hills Technical College is seeking an energetic and relationship-focused Admissions Recruiter to join our Admissions team. This position is responsible for generating prospective student interest through territory-based recruitment, relationship building, inquiry management, and well-coordinated recruitment experiences. The Admissions Recruiter serves as the operational coordinator for assigned on-campus recruitment events and group visits while representing the College throughout the region.

This position requires extensive travel during active recruitment periods and participation in both daytime and evening recruitment events.

Qualifications

  • Must possess and maintain a valid Kansas driver's license and remain eligible to drive under the College's vehicle insurance requirements.
  • Associate’s degree from an accredited college or university required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Two years of experience in student recruitment, admissions, event coordination, education, sales, customer service or a closely related area preferred.
  • Excellent oral, written, presentation and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational, project-management and follow-through skills, including the ability to coordinate multiple events and travel commitments.
  • Proficiency with data entry, customer relationship management systems and common office technology, including Microsoft Word, Excel, email and web-based applications.

Essential Functions

  • Plan and coordinate assigned recruitment events, campus visits and group activities.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with high schools, community organizations and other prospective student referral sources.
  • Represent the College at high school visits, college planning conferences, career fairs and other recruitment activities.
  • Deliver recruitment presentations to prospective students, parents, educators, and community groups.
  • Guide prospective students through the admissions process and assist with placement testing activities.
  • Conduct personalized outreach and follow-up with prospective students.
  • Maintain accurate recruitment records and documentation of recruitment activities.
  • Provide campus tours.

Compensation

  • Full-time, 40-hour-per week, 10-month position with a work schedule from August 1 through May 31
  • Hourly rate starting at $17.78
  • Annual compensation is based on relevant years of experience and is paid over 12 months
