Mascot Performer – 2026-27 Hockey Season
The Flint Firebirds are looking for an energetic, outgoing, and reliable individual to join our team as a Mascot Performer for the 2026-27 hockey season. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys entertaining crowds, interacting with fans, and representing the Firebirds organization throughout the community.
Position Details
- Seasonal Position: September 2026 through March 2027, with the potential to continue through the OHL Playoffs
- Paid Position
- Home game and event-based schedule
- Typical game-day shift begins approximately one hour before doors open and concludes following the end of the game
- Required to be at all home games, with a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required
Responsibilities
- Perform as the Flint Firebirds mascot during all assigned home games
- Engage with fans of all ages in a fun, professional, and energetic manner
- Assist with crowd interaction, photo opportunities, contests, and in-game entertainment
- Represent the Flint Firebirds brand positively both inside and outside the arena
- Work alongside game day staff, interns, and front office personnel to enhance the fan experience
- Attend community appearances and special events throughout the season, including but not limited to parades, Spaghetti on Ice, sponsor activations, school visits, and other events held at the arena or within the community
- Maintain a high level of enthusiasm and professionalism at all times while in costume
Qualifications
- High-energy and outgoing personality
- Comfortable performing in front of large crowds
- Ability to wear a mascot costume and remain active for extended periods of time
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Reliable transportation preferred
- Flexible availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout an entire game or event
- Previous mascot, dance, cheer, theater, entertainment, or customer service experience is preferred
