ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Make decisions when required with regard to the airworthiness of aircraft, engines, components and accessories

Conduct inspections and related functions as directed by job cards, maintenance manuals, A.D.’s and other documents included or specified in the work package.

Conduct receiving inspection of all components, materials, tooling, and hardware as required by this manual and applicable FAR’s

Conduct RII inspections (if qualified) in accordance with approved procedures and maintenance program requirements.

Review paperwork, including but not limited to, maintenance forms, parts tags, job cards, log pages and tally sheets to ensure compliance with this Repair Station Manual and all applicable FAR’s

Inspect, determine the airworthiness of and approve the final acceptance of all incoming material, including new parts, supplies and articles on which work has been performed by contracted vendors of North State Aviation.

Conduct the preliminary, hidden damage, in-process, and final inspection of all articles processed by North State Aviation and record results as outlined in the Repair Station & Quality Control Manuals.

Ensure adherence to all RII inspection items and procedures.

Perform all other duties and responsibilities of an aircraft maintenance mechanic when not performing the duties of an Inspector. NOTE: An Inspector may not buy back or inspect his or her own work

Read, understand and apply the requirements, guidelines and regulations of the Repair Station & Quality Control Manuals that apply to the duties and responsibilities an Inspector.

Read, understand and comply with the applicable regulations in the Repair Station & Quality Control Manuals and with the inspection methods, techniques, practices, aids, equipment, and tools used to determine the airworthiness of the article on which maintenance, preventive maintenance, or alterations are being performed.

Utilize proficiently the various types of inspection equipment and visual inspection aids appropriate for the article being inspected.

Perform additional duties as assigned.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Physical: While performing maintenance on an aircraft, employees must be able to balance, bend, stoop, crawl, climb, climb stairs, crouch, carry items up to 50 pounds, grasp, kneel, lift items 50 pounds or over, pull hand over hand, push, reach above shoulder, use repetitive motion, sit on average 2 hours per day, stand on average 8 hours per day, walk on average 6 hours per day, possess the ability to see and follow precise instructions, documents, diagrams, or blueprints, to distinguish color differences, to see and read information via computer screen or other electronic device, to detect distinct, specific noises, to hear if equipment/tools, etc. are operating properly, to hear and understand precise directions, to hear and understand what others are saying in normal conversation.

 

Mental: While performing maintenance on an aircraft, employees must be able to understand, remember, and apply complex oral and/or written instructions or other information, to organize thoughts and ideas into understandable terminology or data, to make decisions which have significant impact on the immediate work unit and monitor impact outside immediate work unit.

 

Communication: While performing maintenance on an aircraft, employees must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language, to understand and follow complex instructions and guidelines, to complete complex forms, documents or reports, and/or conduct complex oral communication with others, to express or exchange ideas by means of the spoken word, communicating orally with others accurately, loudly, and quickly.

 

To perform accurate and quality work, employees must possess and demonstrate mechanical and analytical aptitude, effectively communicate both orally and in writing, be flexible and cooperative, meet tight deadlines, possess attention to detail, have the ability to work productively within a diverse work environment, and be safety conscious.

 

WORKING CONDITIONS

Combination of inside and outside with changing climate conditions

Moderate to high noise level

Low to moderate risk for exposure to hazardous chemicals, vapors, or materials

Work in confined spaces, work at varied heights

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

A&P certification

737 GenFam course on transport category aircraft and airbus

9 or more years’ documented/verifiable maintenance experience on Boeing transport category aircraft

Prefer experience in the installation and rigging of flight controls, in conducting sheet metal repairs, avionics and or inspection of aircraft9

Must meet the requirements of FAR: 145.155
