POSITION SUMMARY

The Entry-Level Aircraft Maintenance Technician (A&P) conducts inspection, maintenance, and repair of Diamond Aircraft. This role is ideal for early-career A&P mechanics seeking hands-on experience with modern, technically advanced aircraft and composite airframes.

The technician will conduct routine maintenance tasks while gaining familiarity with Diamond Aircraft systems, FAA regulatory requirements, and company procedures. This position offers structured learning, and clear opportunities for advancement, including Continental and Diamond Aircraft training, to help build a strong foundation in high-quality general aviation maintenance.

Max Air is an authorized Continental and Diamond Aircraft Service Center based at Falcon Field Airport in Mesa, Arizona. OBJECTIVES

  • Perform authorized maintenance, preventive maintenance, and unscheduled repairs on Diamond Aircraft models (DA40, DA42, DA50, DA62).
  • Conduct 100-hour, annual, and routine inspections.
  • Accurately document work performed in aircraft maintenance records, including AD compliance, maintenance forms, inspection reports, and aircraft logbooks.
  • Follow FAA regulations, manufacturer maintenance manuals, company procedures, and airworthiness standards.
  • Process creation, parts inventory management, and parts ordering
  • Respond promptly to all maintenance requests and communications, including those received via Slack, FSP, and email. Timely responses are expected during weekends and holidays as operational needs require.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, organized and professional maintenance hangar at all times.
  • Participate in meetings, safety briefings, training, and continuous improvement initiatives.

COMPETENCIES

  • Working knowledge of FAR Parts 145, 91, and 43
  • Ability to read, interpret, and follow maintenance manuals and technical instructions
  • Working knowledge of Garmin avionics systems (G1000/G1000 NXi)
  • Familiarity with composite airframe construction and repair
  • Proficiency with TBX or similar digital maintenance tracking platforms and electronic recordkeeping systems.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on troubleshooting skills
  • Excellent attention to detail with a commitment to safety and quality
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently on assigned tasks while collaborating effectively within a team environment
  • Positive mental attitude, reliability, and eagerness to learn

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) Certificate
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Recent graduate of an FAA-approved A&P program or equivalent hands-on experience
  • Preferred: Prior aircraft maintenance experience with light general aviation aircraft
  • Preferred: Familiarity with Diamond Aircraft

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to stand, kneel, bend, crawl, and work in confined spaces for extended periods
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends, holidays, or on-call shifts as needed
