Role Description The Shift Manager is a part-time, on-site role based at the Flight Adventure Park location in Irmo, SC. This position oversees daily park and ice rink operations during assigned shifts, including supervising team members, monitoring guest flow, and driving sales to support park growth. The Shift Manager coordinates staff scheduling, assigns duties, manages park programs, and provides coaching and feedback to lead a diverse team of 25 or more staff members while maintaining high standards of guest service and safety.Additional responsibilities include overseeing ice rink operations—including learning to operate and drive the Zamboni—resolving guest concerns, handling incident reports, cash handling, opening/closing procedures, assisting with events and parties, and maintaining a clean, organized environment throughout the facility.
Qualifications
Leadership & Team Management: Proven experience in shift leadership or supervisory roles managing teams of 25 or more employees in hospitality, recreation, retail, or entertainment environments.
Communication & Professionalism: Exceptional communication skills and high professionalism to handle escalated issues, interact with guests, and motivate staff.
Operations & Programs: Ability to manage park programs, drive sales, and oversee specialized attractions, including ice rink operations and learning to drive a Zamboni.
Customer Service & Attitude: A positive, energetic attitude with a commitment to delivering outstanding guest experiences and resolving customer concerns effectively.
Safety & Compliance: Demonstrated commitment to safety, rule enforcement, incident reporting, and maintaining a secure environment for all guests and staff.
Administrative & POS: Proficiency with point-of-sale (POS) systems, cash handling, daily reporting, and staff scheduling with high accuracy.
Availability: Flexibility and full availability to work on-site in Irmo, SC, including early mornings, late nights, weekends, and holidays as required by park operations.
Physical & Education Requirements: Physical ability to stand, move actively for extended periods, and lift 50 lbs or more for facility setup, equipment maintenance, and rink care. High school diploma or equivalent required; prior adventure park or ice rink experience is a plus.
